Sussex Butterfly Conservation Photography Competition 2008 : Conditions of Entry and Entry Form

1. The competition is open to young people who live in Sussex and are aged between 12 and 16 years inclusive as at 31st August 2008.

2. Entries are free.

3. Photographs must be of native butterflies or moths taken in Sussex during 2008. The subject can be at any stage of the life cycle i.e. egg, caterpillar, chrysalis or adult. Please ensure that no butterflies, moths or their habitats are harmed when you take your photographs.

4. Photographs must be submitted in hard copy. Sorry, we cannot accept emailed or electronic versions.

5. On the back of each photograph please write your full name and the date and place the photograph was taken. If you know which butterfly or moth it is you can add this too.

6. The closing date for entries is 30th September 2008. No entries can be accepted after this date. The winners will be notified by post on or before 30th November 2008.

7. The prizes for the best photograph are: 1st prize £50, 2nd prize £30, 3rd prize £20. In addition, the winners and 10 runners-up will receive 12 months free membership of Butterfly Conservation.

8. You may enter as many photographs as you like. However, winners will be restricted to one prize.

9. Please print off and fill in an application form to include with your entries.

10. Photographs can be of any size but please bear in mind that quality can sometimes be lost if images are made too large.

11. The names of the winners and 10 runners-up together with the winning photographs will be displayed on the Sussex Butterfly Conservation website. In addition, Butterfly Conservation reserves the right to use any of the images.

12. Winners may be asked to provide a digital version of their photograph, where practical. They may also be required to take part in publicity.

13. No entries can be returned so please keep a copy of your photographs.

14. Send your entries to Sussex Butterfly Conservation Photography Competition, c/o C. Clarke, 3 Withdean Crescent, Brighton, BN1 6WG.

15. Photographs will be judged by a panel of three Sussex Butterfly Conservation members. The judges' decisions are final. No correspondence can be entered into.

16. By entering the competition, it is assumed that you have accepted these rules.
