The Rother Woods Project
Britain's woodland
butterflies have suffered major declines. Butterfly Conservation's
response is the country's biggest butterfly project to date.
The Rother Woods area
(between the Rother and the Brede) has been identified as one of the
most important areas for woodlands in the South East. In this area
we’ll be conserving and promoting butterflies by:
-
Improving habitat for woodland
butterflies by working with woodland owners.
-
Looking for woodland butterflies and moths (with landowners’
permissions).
-
Holding special events to promote butterflies and moths - click
here.
-
Promoting woodland work and woodland markets to ensure a
sustainable future.
Can you help? We need people
to help us find and record butterflies in the Rother Woods. Whatever
your ability (beginner to expert), your help could be very valuable.
If you are willing to help
please contact project officer Steve Wheatley - 01580 879958 or
email rotherwoods 'AT' sussex-butterflies.org.uk.
