| Event Description: | David Bridges will introduce you to the butterflies of this reserve on the edge of Horsham. |

| Target Species: | Common grassland butterflies and, hopefully, some rarer woodland species, including Silver-washed Fritillary. We have recorded 33 species in the Butterfly Fields including, in most years, the Purple Emperor. |

| Event Title: | Silver Studded Blues Monitoring Event |
| Event Description: | We are, in partnership with the Ashdown Forest, seeking to improve our knowledge of the distribution of the Silver Studded Blue, a priority species, which has declined in recent years, across the Forest. We will be dong this by searching areas of the Forest to record the presence/absence of the species. After an introductory meeting for all participants at 10.30am we will be working in groups, spreading out to cover defined areas. If you are interested in participating in this event, which it is hoped will increase our understanding of the status of the Silver Studded Blue, and assist in targeting work to improve its habitat, please contact us at events@sussex-butterflies.org.uk |
