Transect Tasters

Do you wish to accompany a Transect Recorder on their surveys?

The aim is to enable those who are keen to join a Transect group or set up their own Transect to gain valuable experience in the field. This could be quite beneficial for those who have already participated in one of our Transect Training courses.

This arrangement is not intended for people who just wish to see the butterflies of the Recorder’s site but to increase the number of surveyors so that more data is obtained across our area.

Those keen to join in should register their interest via events@sussex-butterflies.org.uk with the Subject title being “Transect Tasters”. Your details will then be passed on to the relevant Transect Recorder for the area you wish to be involved in and they will organise things from there on.

I would like to emphasise that this is NOT a Butterfly Conservation event and participation is at the individuals own risk. Here at “Events” we are only enabling initial communication between both sides.

Numbers may be limited and each Recorder will decide how many they are able to have join their Transect.

The areas included at present are as follows -

Park Corner Heath/Rowland Wood, E Sussex

Castle Hill, Woodingdean, Brighton

Horsham vicinity

Anchor Bottom, Upper Beeding, W Sussex
