The Haven is holding a work party on Saturday 15th February and would welcome volunteers to help on the day.

The work party will run from 11am until 3pm and will involve some planting and some hedge maintenance. The address is Stringer Way, Brighton, BN1 6QG. All are welcome. Any volunteers attending should bring work gloves and any food/drink that they require. If someone is intending to come it would be good, but not essential, if they drop Tony Gould an email first at firehorsetg@gmail.com.

There is limited car parking on Stringer Way by the entrance to the Haven. Access for car parking is via Draxmont Way only. Stringer Way can also be reached on foot from Balfour Road. There is no access from Loder Road through Dorothy Stringer School.

A butterfly transect training event hosted by the National Trust for anyone who would like to help record weekly butterfly sightings between 1st April and 30th September at National Trust locations near Woolbeding, Midhurst. 

Butterfly Conservation will be providing the training.

If you volunteer for BC, you are invited to register for Assemble, which is a new, more effective way for Butterfly Conservation (BC) staff and volunteers to communicate, and for you to find out pretty much anything you need to know about volunteering with us.  You can access it via the BC website - and there's also an app available to those who use a smartphone or tablet.  As well as finding training resources and other information, you can easily sign up to events, keep your information up to date and even let us know about a skill you would like to share with us.  It is used by the RSPB, Ramblers and CPRE (The Countryside Charity), as well as larger organisations such as the NHS and Save The Children.
