SxBC Photo Competition 2025
Again this year we are holding a photographic competition open to all members; the results to be announced at the Members Day being held at the Cyprus Hall, Burgess Hill on Saturday the 22nd of November.
This year we will also have a category for U16s. That is for those under 16 at the entry deadline date of Saturday 25th of October.

Rules are as follows:
- Entries are restricted to Sussex Branch members of Butterfly Conservation.
- Maximum of 2 entries per person.
- Only digital images will be accepted and should be sent to events@sussex-butterflies.org.uk in jpeg format. Please use “SxBC Photo Competition” in the subject heading. U16 entrants must have their images submitted by a parent or responsible adult.
- All images are to be of butterflies or moths taken in Sussex in the wild during 2025. Images of moths recovered from traps are not permitted.
- Image files should, if possible, be titled to show the species name and that of the photographer. If unable to do that then please include the information in the body of the email.
- Ownership and copyright of all images will stay with the photographer but SxBC reserves the right to show selected images at the Members Day and on our branch Website and Social Media pages - with credits.
- The deadline for entries is midnight on Saturday 25th October. Entries received after that deadline will not be accepted.
The competition will be judged in advance by 3 judges who, along with the competition organiser, will be barred from entering images.
Prizes will be given to the winners of both Categories.
