The Painted Ladies seemed to have moved on - only 7 counted this morning. However, I sighted my first Meadow Browns for this year (5). In addition I spotted 5 Common Blues, 4 Red Admirals, 3 Small Browns, 1 Speckled Wood and one Dingy Skipper.

A first brood Dingy Skipper seen in June is a notable record. In 2025, there were just two records in June: 04/06/2025 at Horseshoe Plantation (two seen) and 16/06/2025 at Chantry Hill (again, there were two individuals). The species "search facility" introduced by Paul Shepherd allowed me to find these records in just 1-2 minutes! Martin K
