The wildflower meadows on the Amberley Downs are awesome, and the butterflies are rather good, too. I only explored Stoke Bottom and I estimated around 1500 -2000 Chalk Hill Blues, a few dozen Common Blues, a dozen Adonis Blues and a few Brown Argus. I particularly enjoyed the company of Clouded Yellows, Small Blues and second brood Dingy Skippers. Just one Dark Green Fritillary seen. I also enjoyed the company of Graham Hicks, who I bumped into for the first time.
