Top work by Alan Birch and Kevin Halsall in spotting Wood White at Verdley Wood. Further to Alan's comments, I saw a female here on 14 May 2025, which I suspect was in the "side ride" he mentioned, at SU90102611 (a more accurate grid ref than the one I submitted to SxBRC). At the time, I interpreted this as a long-distance dispersing individual, with more recent records suggesting that she may have spawned this embryonic colony. Alan is correct in saying that the margins of the main ride and adjacent coppice are managed for PBF; I will talk to the local SDNPA ranger, as there are management actions which could be performed nearby this winter, specifically to support Wood White.
