This week I'm leading a butterfly tour. Today we had one of those special days, as we had just finished strolling Kithurst Meadow when, as we were just loading up the van a Queen of Spain Fritillary landed on the creeping thistles in front of us. Some great views were had before it took off and wasn't seen again. This was followed by great views of an egg laying Brown Hairstreak at Steyning, lots of Adonis Blue at Anchor and finished off with reasonable views of Long-tailed Blues at Whitehawk. As none of my group are photographers I too went without a camera today. Possibly not the best day to have done that, but strangely I have no regrets. (Well, not many anyway)!!
