30+ humming bird hawk moths on 60yd strip of buddleia on the footpath from around 9,30am onwards.

An extraordinary count and surely yet another Sussex record for this species, at one location, on the same day. Recent immigrants or British-born? I favour the latter. I have seen dozens of Humming-bird Hawk-moths egg-laying this summer. Martin K
