As a follow-up to the Brown Hairstreak record, sent in by Richard Farran, I can add the following comment by County Recorder, Colin Pratt, "there are no known 21st century Sussex records to the east of an imaginary line drawn from Hartfield and Pevensey until now, but the Brown Hairstreak certainly existed there in a few places during the 20th century (at least from the Second World War onwards). PS A friend of Richard's photographed a Brown Hairstreak at Hurst Green, East Sussex (a few miles from Etchingham).
