Conservation Work Parties: 2021 - 2022 Season

Winter Work Parties

Throughout the winter the branch arranges and supports conservation work parties on its reserves and on other important reserves across Sussex, helping improve the habitat to ensure the continued success of our butterflies in 2022 and beyond.

We are really pleased that Neil Hulme has again agreed to lead the winter work parties at Rowland Wood and Park Corner Heath this season. Our work parties will continue to take place on the second Sunday of every month. However, as Neil has a prior commitment, there will be no work party in October. Instead, there will be two parties in November. Therefore, this coming winter the dates will be:

  • Sunday 14 November
  • Sunday 28 November
  • Sunday 12 December
  • Sunday 9 January
  • Sunday 13 February
  • Sunday 13 March

The work parties will start at 10am and end around 4pm, but don't feel obliged to stay all day. Work parties will be arranged to be Covid safe. There is no need to inform anyone that you plan to attend - please just show up. Please bring your own work gloves and your own hand tools if you have them, particularly loppers. You will also need to bring your own food and drink as required.

We do recommend that you keep an eye on this page as we will make it clear here if any of the work parties have to be cancelled due to unsafe weather.

Please contact Neil Hulme if you have any queries - neil.hulme.sussex[AT]outlook.com
