SUMMER EVENTS & FIELD TRIPS - 2016

Our events are a great way to see butterflies, learn about them, and visit some wonderful places and see many different habitats across Sussex.

Most of our events are free and open to all, although there is a suggested donation of £2 to help us with our work if you are not a member of Butterfly Conservation. Please check the details carefully as some events are exclusively for members or require pre-booking. For further information, please contact Penny Green at events@sussex-butterflies.org.uk

We've got another excellent selection of butterfly field events lined up for you this year, all run by volunteers who are passionate about the wonderful butterflies that Sussex has to offer.

Please wear stout footwear to outdoor events and appropriate clothes for the weather conditions.

Bring your own refreshments to keep you going.

Dogs allowed but must be kept on a lead - Events that are suitable for children, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

POSTPONED DUE TO COLD WEATHER UNTIL SATURDAY 14th MAY

Unfortunately the continuing cold spell has now put spring 2016 back by nearly three weeks (relative to C21st average), and the Pearl-bordered Fritillary is yet to emerge. As there is nothing else flying in Rewell at the moment, other than the odd Peacock and Brimstone, I will be POSTPONING the walks (morning and afternoon) on Sunday 1 May.

You are welcome to book places on the morning or afternoon walks on 7 May, and there will now be morning and afternoon options available on Saturday 14 May. All other details will remain the same.

The weather is forecast to change next week, with winds swinging south and temperatures recovering to the norm. This is likely to trigger a rapid emergence.

Apologies for any inconvenience. Please let me know if you would like to register for an alternative date.
