This we hope will be develop into a comprehensive guide to the best butterfly and moth sites to visit in Sussex.

Sites are being added on a regular basis but we need your help to add to it! Please submit your sites to webmaster"AT"sussex-butterflies.org.uk in the format at the foot of this page. We hope soon to include a map here to guide you to the various sites.

The sites are rated to give you an instant idea of how good the site is: *** sites are exceptional, ** sites are very good, and * sites are good. Those species listed under Key species and Other species can reasonably be expected to be seen during their flight period.

The presence of a site on this website does not imply open access - please observe all relevant access restrictions, keep to rights of way etc. We also urge visitors to act responsibly so as not to damage the butterflies and moths, their eggs, caterpillars or foodplants, or any other wildlife at these sites.

It would be nice to think that all of these sites and more, and the wildlife they contain, will still be present for future generations to enjoy. That will in large part depend on your support for Butterfly Conservation and other conservation organisations - please do join Butterfly Conservation if you have yet to do so.
