Warnham Butterfly Fields

Where and why: David Bridges will introduce you to the butterflies of this reserve on the edge of Horsham.

On: Sunday 7th July 2024 at 10:30 to 13:00

Walking Distance: A gentle stroll of about 1.5 miles but the walk can be extended to visit some adjacent woodland depending on the interests of the group (maximum distance 3 miles).

Target Species: Common grassland butterflies and, hopefully, some rarer woodland species, including Silver-washed Fritillary. We have recorded 33 species in the Butterfly Fields including, in most years, the Purple Emperor.

Terrain: Easy field paths on sloping ground but with some ruts and tree stumps to look out for in places.

Family Friendly: Yes

Dogs Allowed: Yes

Meeting Place: At the gate to the Butterfly Fields at the top of Tilletts Lane, Warnham.
